DESCRIPTION:The Allstyles Music Club has been running for many years located most recently at the Feathers Bar in the function room at the rear of the building. The members and attendees are local musicians and artists with the club offering an opportunity for them to perform\, as well as inviting musicians and artists from others areas to come and perform in the Ruthin area. A licensed bar will be available as well as the opportunity not to be missed to view and hear some great entertainment.

DESCRIPTION:With the visitors from Ruthin’s twin town of Briec arriving the day before\, Briec’s pipe band the ‘Bagad’ will be performing at some venues locally prior to their main performances at the festival’s Top of Town on the last Saturday of the week. They will be performing for the residents at Llys Awelon and then in the courtyard area of the Old Gaol on Clwyd Street in the afternoon. Both events are open to the public and everyone is welcome to experience their performances.

SUMMARY:Ruthin Community Choir Rehearsal (Dementia Friendly Choir)
DESCRIPTION:This choir was formed relatively recently and rehearses on a weekly basis normally at Ruthin Market Hall (but at times in St Peters Church). The choir’s membership does consist of people who have been diagnosed with dementia and also their family members\, but also a wide range of people – but everyone wants to sing together. This event is the choir’s weekly rehearsal but a warm welcome is extended to people interested in joining the choir or want to come along to listen.

SUMMARY:Ysgol Brynhyfryd & Ruthin District Youth Concert
DESCRIPTION:A concert at the town’s main Theatre with students from Ysgol Brynhyfryd and local schools performing a wide range of art forms including music. Children and young people from the Ruthin area enjoyed particular success in the Urdd Eisteddfod in Meifod in the past few weeks\, and this will be their opportunity to shine once again. Also performing will be the bands that competed in the festival’s own ‘Battle of the Bands’ a few weeks ago. Tickets on sale at Elfair and Ysgol Brynhyfryd.

SUMMARY:Concert & Cymanfa
DESCRIPTION:A combination of 2 Welsh traditions. The first a concert with 2 local choirs namely Cor Dyffryn Clwyd and Cor Meibion Marchan who both enjoyed some success at the National Eisteddfod in Boduan in 2023. The second a ‘Cymanfa’ which is the tradition of Welsh congregational hymn singing normally in a religious building. The event will be held at Capel Tabernacl which is one of the town’s historic chapels known for its acoustics where the prominent Emrys ap Iwan was a Minister at one time.

DESCRIPTION:An evening with local bands and musicians in one of the town’s public houses. There may be an opportunity for walk-ins to perform so please bring along your voice and instrument if you have one! The Wine Vaults is located on Castle Street adjoining the square and serves a range of beers and beverages in a building which has been a public house since the 1800s. The evening will continue for several hours once it starts so its advised to go early to get a seat and to see and hear the music.

DESCRIPTION:Pedair are a Welsh folk ‘supergroup’ made up of possibly the 4 most promient female Welsh folk musicians currently – Gwyneth Glyn\, Gwenan Gibbard\, Sian James and Meinir Gwilym. They have released a number of singles and albums to critical acclaim\, as well as performing at a number of venues and the National Eisteddfod. They will be joined by Eryrod Meirion – a folk singing group from the village of Llanuwchllyn near Bala who have enjoyed particular success in competitions in the last few years.
